I'm an American with limited English history. So my question is why and what is the point in England having a Queen?

Blood sucking illuminati vermin, I heard the queen is 400 years old, and the Greek has to get his reptillian blood drained every six months, and when the ma died they buried her in an eight foot lead lined coffin, she was only a midget while alive. They are all midgets ffs

What if the Queen started spending money like it is going out of style. And she started to become broke. What course of action if any would the British take? Or would they allow the royal family to become broke?

It's happened before. Yes, if the monarch's spending is out of control, Parliament can stop paying their bills.

It's unlikely to happen, however; the Queen's allowance from the Civil List is ample for her purposes, and the perks of her job are impressive - she lives rent-free in a colossal palace in Mayfair, after all. Several colossal palaces, in fact, in rather nice parts of the country. And has access to quite a lot of other Crown property. So her personal expenses aren't all that great - she already owns pretty much everything she could want.

Past monarchs who got into money quarrels with Parliament were generally trying to maintain their own personal armed forces. Since Charles I ended his reign as a rather less tall man than he began it, nobody's really fancied trying that one again, and the only bother we've had was with the Prince Regent's ridiculously lavish lifestyle. Appalling bloated fat stupid sexually incontinent German oxygen-thieving waste of blood and organs that he was. Still, he had the good grace to stay pretty much out of the way while Parliament was busy defeating Napoleon.

Good question seeing as all criminal cases are tried in her name, hence the Regina v. (insert name here) in courts that represent her.

Not trying to sounf ignorant but if the royal family doesn't do anything help me to understand the purpose in having someone sit in a castle and be idolized
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 825623

Well you are ignorant because you're asking the question.

First you'll need to understand that they don't just sit
in a castle being idolized. That's a fairy tale told to you through childrens story's, the media, movies and the press.

They do far more than you could ever imagine and it is
of the most horrific nature and the very reason we don't have peace on this earth to this very today.

But she does have power doesn't she? The UK is a Constitutional Monarchy, but doesn't he Queen have the power to remove officials from office and declare Martial Law?

Are you British? Is this really true? How did she keep that power?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 825623

I think it's actually a parliamentary monarcy rather than a constitutional one.
The English, being a pretty faggy bunch, have always had a thing about old queens so it was either Quentin Crisp or Betty Windsor.
