For me these are essential. they are the best 64bit free apps for windows 7/vista64
They include superfast 64bit firefox, super COMODO(antivirus/firewall/internet security/secure DNS servers)
64 bit win rar, 64bit klite megacodec pack, 64bit photoediting,64bit Demon tools(virtual Drives) 64bit defrag.
These are all on the link.
Other essential apps for me are Add block plus and noscript (addons for firefox)
Usenext (usenet client, for file sharing)
Steam (for games)
Microsoft Office 2007
Guitar pro 5
Thats about it i suppose.
Google earth is always useful.
Adobe Acrobat reader.
And always always burn a backup image to a differnt disk or partition so that when your computer fucks up you dont have to reinstall all this crap again as well as the OS.
Its easy just go to backup and respore and choose to create a backup IMAGE.
And even better a recovery disk aswell.
Trust me, if you have a bad virus that eats some of your system files, or you kick your pc whilst playing a game and you HD wipes over random system files, all you ahve to do is boot into the recovery mode or your repair/windows cd and choose to "re-image" in about 5 mins you have windows installed and everything working perfectly how it was. |

Use COMODO secure DNS servers, use Scroogle.org instead of google, and for files sharing use a usenet client with SSL encryption. COMODO security will do the rest. |

It's graphic software used in Broadcast TV. When you watch either news or sports, typically the graphics (lower thirds, full screens or OTS) are done with Lyric software. In ten years we'll look back on this moment, laugh nervously, and quickly change the subject. |

What's "64bit defrag"? I used UltimateDefrag when I had an XP SP3 OS, but not I'm running Windows 7 and its defrag ...I don't know what the hell it does...it just sits there going through its motions. I like pictures, like Norton used to show when defragging, or UltimateDefragger does.
Unfortunately, UltimateDefrag doesn't run on Windows 7. |
