Thierry Henry handled the ball quite clearly in the match last night and Ireland don't go to the finals in South Africa next year. It is a FIFA conspiracy, and an utter disgrace.

Even if FIFA get involved the best that will happen would be a replay of the game. Shit happens, England had the same in '86 Cheers.

it is time for FIFA to accept the electronic revision of controversial situations as this.
They have to reconsider the result and give Ireland the pass to the world cup

Re: Irealnd cheated out of soccer World Cup by France
There is a simple to solution to stop all these injustices. Give each team one or two 'challenges' to a decision involving a goal or a penalty decision, where there is an umpire who has a video replay and either confirms or overrules a referees decision. Almost every team sport now has this at the top level, and it is a scandal that it is not in soccer.

Re: Irealnd cheated out of soccer World Cup by France
Our team 'équipe de France' is really shitty. It's a political tool to force immigration in France. Many Frenchies were supporting Ireland last night just because they... hum, I wonder why? ;-)
Just another thing, last saturday Algeria lost the match against Egypt and algerians were rioting in France. Not cool. Yesterday was the day of the second Algeria/Egypt match, 'match retour' (don't know how to say that in english sorry).
to bad Algeria won... I was pulling for Egypt 084M4-C41D3R0N %N0W5... 9/II 1N51D3 J08....AHINI 4L50 1N51D3 J08

I forgot to say that algeria had won the second match and will go to the world cup!
So why are they setting France on fire?
If France meet algeria during the world cup and win, I think there will be no more France... ^^

If the French team had any class, they would offer Ireland a replay at a neutral venue in December. Domenech the french coach is a clown, and is a believer in astrology and necromancy. So it wont happen because it would be bad ju ju for him.

As a kid I remember watching 1982 world cup and I tell you France had a beautiful team, their style was envied by everyone I think they had even more style than brazil, players like Six,Giresse, Rocheteau, Platini, Genghini etc. But now I look at the French team and that style they used to have is all but gone, they look like shit to be honest, it is like the french football that people admired so much is dead now

Re: Irealnd cheated out of soccer World Cup by France
Republic of Ireland defender Richard Dunne said he felt "cheated" of a World Cup place after his team's 2-1 aggregate loss to France in Paris.
French striker Thierry Henry handled the ball in the build up to William Gallas's decisive extra-time goal earning a 1-1 draw on the night.
Dunne said: "Henry admitted afterwards he handled it, but it doesn't make me feel any better. We were cheated."
Henry added: "I will be honest it was a handball but I'm not the referee."
The Barcelona striker clearly handled the ball to stop it going out of play and then prodded it across goal for Gallas to nod home in the 104th minute. That left Ireland little time to reply having taken an early lead through Robbie Keane's strike after 33 minutes.
Giovanni Trapattoni's side carved out a number of chances but survived an appeal for a France penalty when Nicolas Anelka appeared to be tripped by Irish keeper Shay Given. The Swedish referee Martin Hansson denied the hosts but he, nor the linesman, failed to spot the Henry handball in an albeit crowded penalty area.
"Fifa will probably be happy," added Dunne. "Yet again the big decisions have gone for the bigger team.
"There has to be a case for matches of this importance for a fourth official to look at replays and get the calls right."
Captain Robbie Keane also claimed Fifa president Sepp Blatter and his Uefa counterpart Michel Platini got the result in Paris they wanted.
He told BBC Radio 5 Live: "Henry nearly caught it, so it's a bit of a killer. When you see the reaction of the players, Shay especially, he's two yards away from it and you don't get a reaction like that if he's not sure it's a handball.
"He almost caught it and ran into the net with it.
"Henry is a top player and has been for a long time but it was a clear handball he dragged it in from going out. He nearly caught it. I wouldn't expect it from anyone."
Remarkably, Henry sat down on the pitch with Dunne after the final whistle and said afterwards he admitted the handball to the Irish defender.
"I told Dunne," Henry said. "He said the same to me, 'you're not the ref'. That's why the players did not come to me, that's why they went to the referee.
"You can clearly see the opportunity. Sebastien Squillaci went to jump for the ball with two Irish players and I'm behind him. The next thing I know the ball hit my hand, my arm even. It was right in front of me, I played it.
"The ref allowed it and that's a question you should ask him."
Manager Trapattoni said it was sickening to go out of the World Cup in such a manner: "We are angry. It is a bitter evening for me.
"I would prefer to have gone out on penalties.
"The referee had time to ask the linesman and then after to ask Henry.
"It would not have been the first time a player would have asked and it would not have been out of turn.
"I am upset for fair play. We talk many times about fair play, I go to schools and talk to young children about the importance of fair play, and this happens.
"I spoke to the referee and I told him he may have made a great mistake.
"Everybody saw the game. You know what happened.
"We played a great game. We deserved to win."
Assistant coach Liam Brady added: "It is a shameful day for football when something like that happens."
France coach Raymond Domenech said: "I am sorry for Ireland and in a way disappointed they have gone out.
"We would love to have won by two or three goals, but it was not to be.
"It was hard, laborious and indeed miraculous. I was sure we would make it though. We are happy, like the whole of France football.
"I knew we were going to make a 1-1 draw and we are just happy to be going to South Africa."

Re: Irealnd cheated out of soccer World Cup by France
Two bookmaking chains are refunding bets backing Ireland to qualify for the World Cup.
Thierry Henry clearly handled the ball before playing it for William Gallas to score the equaliser which saw France win 2-1 on aggregate.
William Hill and Paddy Power are refunding stake money to customers who backed the Republic to qualify.
William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe said it would cost them a "five figure sum" but it was the right thing to do.
"Leaving aside any moral scruples and the fact that no-one knows what would have happened if the goal had been disallowed, William Hill feel that they are being as fair as possible to everyone by returning stake money to those who bet on the Irish going through," he said.
'Small consolation'
In 1986 the chain 'disallowed' Maradona's 'Hand of God' goal for Argentina against England and refunded stakes.
Paddy Power is to refund more than £200,000 in stakes.
"I know its small consolation but we're refunding 110,000 euros to all those who backed Ireland to qualify for next years Finals as well as refunding 140,000 euros on the game after we pledged to refund all losing first/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast bets placed on the match if Ireland won the game in 90-minutes," the chain's blog said.
