Guess you could use them in garden sheds, out-buildings, or outhouses. Just be sure to seal them tight with silicon caulk or something for no leakage.
Actually, if you have an outhouse, these might be pretty useful. |

I rent. I suspect many if not most of us rent (just doing a quick demographic breakdown here..........)
So if I am correct, all this talk about solar 'this' and out-house 'that' just feasible. Shit, if I owned a home, I'd be out planting in my garden instead of typing to all you people!
So any tips on us mere peasant apartment dwellers?

I'm all but off the grid. I use 85 watt BP panels and have a huge battery bank in my basement. We live off of it. I only buy 220 for the dryer,central air, and stove. All 110 power comes from my inverter and solar panels.

Even better, once the water is "charged", you can simply place the end of your power cord into the bottle, and power small appliances or a computer for example, for nearly 20 minutes per 2-liter bottle.
We've tried many different versions, but the one described here, is the best. The polaroid film canisters work too but not as well as those made by kodak. Color-safe bleach not so well. |

No the negative responses are due to the pin and the impracticality of it all. The more holes you have in the roof the more potential for leaks. We all don't live in dry, arid climates. Getting a golden shower by mother nature is not my idea of fun nor is continuously patching leaking holes. |
