This is a thread dedicated to those of us sorry people who sing along to songs, only to find out much later that we were singing completely the wrong words, all along.
In some cases, I have gone for years singing the wrong words to a song, until the advent of the internet, when I was able to look up the lyrics and find, to my shame, that I had been making a fool of myself all along.
When I was a teenager, I had a girlfriend who was convinced that the song from Grease entitled 'You're the one that I want' started with the words,
"I got shoes, they're multiplying."
You may confess your similar experiences in this thread, with a guarantee of total anonymity. Jesus said,
"I am the way, the truth and the life; no man comes to the father except by me."

Re: Song lyrics...when you think you hear something different
A friend thought Jimi Hendrix was gay and I asked what makes you think that and he said well how about that song where he says, "Excuse me while I kiss this guy".

Waiting, on a sunday afternoon
for what I read between the lie-ies
Your lie-ies
Feelin', Like a ham and mustard shake..
So do you laugh or do you cry-ie
Reply-ie
leading, on a sophomore train...
only yesterday, you lie-ie-ied..
promises, of what I said to beat
only watched the ties, goodbye-ie-ie
all the things, that I sent to you.
The song didn't make much more sense when I read the real lyrics
I thought Hendricks was gay. "Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have made a difference in the world. Marines don't have that problem."

I began to look for the kind of player that doesn't need his ego fed by stardom, but will do what he's supposed to do because he knows the game and loves the game, and will do the job the right way even if someone else gets the glory.” ~ Bill Belichick
