But I read two posts this morning that really hurt me down to my very soul.
The one about the 7 year old girl found dead in the dumpster, and the other about the dog being skinned alive for food. My first thought was, God, please destroy us now, before we do even more evil, we deserve it. I can only hope that God in his mercy took the pain away from the victims before they died.

How do people sink this low? I know probably these people were abused, but you would think this would make them more compassionate?

I was told everything happens for a reason, and it's perfect, but I can not see any reason for this. And I get angry that I can't do anything about it other than pray,a nd wonder how God allows it and for how much longer?

some people simply mistake horrible for factual. Some people out there do derive energy from intellectually stimulating conversation and debate.. doesn't mean they are horrible people.

Others it seems like simply can't talk about anything serious if their life depended on it; they are limited to one dimensional sexual humor as the basis for every single conversation they carry on in life.

But I read two posts this morning that really hurt me down to my very soul.
The one about the 7 year old girl found dead in the dumpster, and the other about the dog being skinned alive for food. My first thought was, God, please destroy us now, before we do even more evil, we deserve it. I can only hope that God in his mercy took the pain away from the victims before they died.

How do people sink this low? I know probably these people were abused, but you would think this would make them more compassionate?

I do not put up with toxic people in my life and in the last couple months cut a very close family memember loose cause they were just to negative to be around anymore. Life it too short to surround myself with negative energy!!

I know this is hard for some to understand, but when the media reports a story about a muslim lashing a teen or something, it's just propaganda.. these are isolated cases and this is not the norm even in their society, and even if it was the norm, attempting to go into the country and forcefully change their culture does more harm then good, and ultimately, because of the media propaganda, results in a lot of deaths, because people don't want their way of life forcefully changed. Is this because I'm a Christian? No. It's mainly because of how I was raised, how my parents treated me and what they taught me (and punished me for). There are extremely nice athiests and extremely rude Christians. We all know that.

But I believe it is harder to be a nice person without believing in God. (It's not impossible by any means though). What reason do you have to be nice when you don't follow God's laws? Why would you want to be nice if you can do anything you want without any consequences? This is what our society teaches now, and these responses are just the fruit of our teachings.

I have felt similar to what you are feeling. I was so angry that God would allow all of these horrible things to happen.

In tears I asked some older friends why this is allowed to happen. What my friends told me took a LONG time to understand, they said..."when evil happens it is the absence of God in that person's life which is part of the free will God gave us". I then struck back with "but why allow it to happen to someone who does have God in their life?" I hated the reply but it does make sense "it is our free will to accept or deny God/to deny peace, to deny love, to deny joy."

I still don't like the answer, but I do now understand it. All we can truly do is hope that the great white light of love, peace and joy shines into all the dark crevices driving out the evil in everyone.
