Report abusive post | search rescue operation happening right now

a boating accident in front of my home has resulted in one serious injury and one person missing. fire rescue,police, dive team and coast guard helicopter are involved in the search.
i am waiting to get activated on the search, it is night, the water is fast and murky. the odds of finding this other person are slim to none. i will probably get called for a body recovery.
it is extremely unnerving having the helicopter circling over my head with the search lights on, knowing that they are looking for someone who has a family that probably just got notified , my heart goes out to them.
i was just on the scene and feel like shit for not being able to do anything , although competent people are in place

anything is possible i guess, i believe they hit a log so it was probably a pretty violent crash
i just bought a police scanner last night, just got that up and running to see if i can learn more
looks like the coast guard has called it a night, lots of search boats on the water yet

we had a pretty brutal winter, which leads to very high waters in the spring, which puts a lot of shit in the water, there were days you could damn near walk across the river on logs/stumps
just heard on the scanner that it was a Baja, which is a fast as hell boat
i will post a link on this monday from the local paper, will it be good news or two dead?

they just sent the second dive team in, it must be brutal conditions, i was just kayaking there the other day and you could not see anything under the water
