I grew up in the 60's. It happened to me twice when I was about 7 or 8 years old. Not exactly with candy, but a similar tactic. Both times it involved an adult driver with a child passenger close to my age. Thankfully, I declined. I remember being told in school not to accept rides from strangers. Why was that phenomenon so prevalent back then? What the heck was going on? |

There is a lot I've been through I never told my parents. The upbringing I had never made it possible for me to discuss anything outside of their personal expectations of me. I never told them about my horrific rape either. But it's ok. It was a way for me to become personally stronger and independent. |
